The Role

Our Truck Technician Lead (2nd Shift) is primarily responsible for providing oversight and mentoring technicians to ensure repairs are completed to the customer’s satisfaction. You will also be responsible for providing instructions and delegating workload as well as performing timely and quality service and repair of trucks.

Hourly Base Rate (Shift/Lead Differential Included) : $26.43 – $57.09 / hour

Shift Schedule: Mon – Thurs 330pm – 130am

Job duties:

  • Provide a significant amount of task and behavior-oriented supervision, mentoring and training to others as well as monitor physical requirements for work completion (facilities, tools, environmental) and communicate on an ongoing basis to the Shop Manager
  • Assist with the creation of weekly schedule by working closely with Shop Manager
  • Conduct daily updates of schedule and progress reports
  • Willing to assist with the parts orders and identify parts for return
  • Perform all levels of repair and preventive maintenance
  • Perform the job duties of a shop manager during their absence

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics
  • Class A CDL required or ability to obtain CDL within three months of start date
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
  • Knowledge of use of various on-highway trucks
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications

What will put you ahead:

  • Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically Class 8 Trucks)
  • Stable work history
  • Previous lead or management experience
  • All makes and models of engine rebuilds
  • Class A CDL
